As I write this, it is Friday night at 7:01 p.m. and my son, the sixth grader, is doing his math homework – completely of his own accord.
Yes, I am proud. And also yes, I felt his forehead in case he was feeling under the weather.
It’s Friday, friends, and I couldn’t be happier about that. It’s not like a I had a bad week or anything; I was just ready for the weekend by Wednesday for some reason.
Teacher Man is heading “up north”, as we say in Minnesota, with a couple of his guy friends so that leaves Joe and I to our own devices. I gave Joe the choice of 1) Jack’s Pizza at home, or 2) Applebee’s in Buffalo, and weirdly, he chose Applebee’s. I would NEVER have guessed this, as he is the type of kid who likes to stay home once he is at home and often rolls his eyes when we tell him we’re going out for dinner.
Of course, dinner out with Joe means a few things:
Mozzarella sticks (and games on his cell phone).
Goofy picture of Joe.
And goofy pictures of his mother.
And now I regress. Yesterday, I stopped at Lake Pulaski park before going to the office and took these photos after the sun came up. I do live in a lovely world when I stop to look at it.
And this is how I feel sometimes in the middle of week, wishing it was the weekend and I could sleep in. 🙂
Bonus photo: I think I have a problem. Every time I walk into Walmart, I am magnetically drawn to The Pioneer Woman kitchenware section and feel compelled to add something to my blossoming collection.
Teacher Man would likely say I need a Pioneer Woman intervention, but I’m not ashamed. 😉
Have a great weekend and catch up with you soon!
