Well, here we are on Sunday night yet again. How was your weekend?
Ours can best be shown in photos:
Look who came to visit us for the weekend! Our niece, Miss Morgan, who is 2 (and a half) and did a pretty decent job of keeping us busy, busy, busy!
Morgan is obsessed with painting! When Joe was her age, he would play with his Thomas the Tank Engine trains for hours. Give this girl multiple sets of paint (washable, of course – I’m not that far removed from toddler-land) and about a dozen paintbrushes, and she is in her element!
It’s even more fun when an older cousin gets into the act.
Joe found a couple of his duplicate Skylander characters and decided to re-paint one of them and give the other to Morgan to work her magic.
The kids did break for trains!
And us girls took a little shopping break at Target where we found two dresses, a t-shirt, and some jean shorts for Miss Morgan. She loves to shop for clothes – and she’s also very decisive with what she likes! 🙂
Dress #1 … after much cajoling to get her to try it on.
And dress #2!
Morgan’s dog, Avery (a German Shorthair) took it all in stride in his favorite spot – the papasan chair in our porch.
And of course Teacher Man brought home some Dairy Queen to enjoy with his little Bugaboo!
This morning the weather cleared, the sun came out, and we visited the “Mega Playground” in Buffalo.
This was Joe’s old stomping ground when he attended the KidKare program before school, after school, and in the summer.
Morgan’s mama and daddy picked her up after lunch today and she headed home after a round of hugs for all. She is quite the little joy to have around – she wears us out but we all have a fun time getting there!
I spent the rest of the afternoon weeding the vegetable gardens, watering the pots, picking up around the house, and pre-making tomorrow night’s supper. We have a busy day ahead, culminating in Joe’s spring band concert tomorrow night and an early dinner with Grandma and Grandpa. Just four days of school left for both my boys – and I think it’s safe to say we are all ready for a little summer break around here!
I’ll leave you with a few peonies that Morgan and I picked this morning in the garden. So gorgeous – and the house smells divine!
Have a great start to the week, friends!
