Oh my goodness. I actually cannot believe I haven’t blogged since after Memorial Day weekend. I knew June was crazy busy but I never purposely intend to ignore my blog that long – it just makes me sad when that happens!
June was full. Work, graduation parties, birthday (Teacher Man), Father’s Day, a work conference requiring some travel, and LuLaRoe … all combined to make these 30 days go by so fast. Thankfully I have a few days now to slow down (a tiny little bit) and re-energize myself for the rest of July.
First up … my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary today! We headed out to the farm yesterday to celebrate with them and now they are off to Vegas, baby!
The happy couple!
My sissy and niece, Miss Morgan, as we got the party started on the deck at my parent’s farm house.
Joe man! :)
We hit the road, headed to New Ulm, Minnesota, and George’s Fine Steaks & Spirits for a family dinner. Miss Morgan wanted her cousins, Joe-Joe and Miss Audree, to ride with her. (The food, cocktails, and wine were all excellent, by the way!)
Hey, I know this handsome guy! 😉
Being goofy!
More goofing among cousins.
And among father and son. ;)
Later, Miss Morgan talked her Uncle Jerry (Teacher Man) into a little dance party in the porch. It didn’t take much persuasion – she’s got her Uncle wrapped around her cute little finger, as she should!
This is Avery, my sister and brother-in-law’s German Shorthair and he was happy to have us all back home for the evening.
We also put together a fun photo montage video that tried to encapsulate at least a little of the past 50 years – no easy task! And of course, I should’ve started it a month ago. But … I think it turned out great and had everyone laughing, smiling, and maybe even tearing up a little.
This morning, Miss Morgan found a troll she had been missing so that was very important! 😉
And Joe wasn’t too keen on waking up at 9:30 am – typical teenager!
Here’s my brother, giving one last ride to Morgan around the farm before we all headed for home.
And here we are, heading out while my brother and Miss Audree followed us for just a bit on the gravel road – can you see them?
This afternoon, after a wee little nap on the deck, I headed to the gardens to do some weeding and other work. My mom’s gardens always inspire – her flowers are gorgeous and all her gardens are so neat and tidy too! So I weeded my veggie raised beds and then cut the curly tops off my garlic, which is really looking good. Then I did some dead-heading of the peonies.
Which all required a 2nd nap when I finished. 😉
The evening was gorgeous! I sat out on the front porch swing for a while, catching up on my Food Network magazine and admiring my red-white-and-blue star LuLaRoe leggings! 😉
I have the day off tomorrow (woo hoo!) so I’m going to catch up on a few things around the house and make some chocolate chip cookies to take to the lake. We will head to my brother and sister-in-law’s lake home for the 4th of July.
I hope you have a wonderful holiday!!
