It’s never a good sign when you send a video chat message to your mother and she responds with, “You look tired, dear. You need another nap.” 😉
Although in this case, it means that the past week+ has been full of amazing and awesome experiences so perhaps it’s really a good sign on this Sunday night.
Last weekend, we got together with my family to celebrate our January birthdays – most noticeably my sister’s 40th birthday and also Joe’s 14th and our nephew Davis’s 23rd! We stayed downtown in Minneapolis and enjoyed the buzz that was already starting for the Super Bowl.
Monday I left for Atlanta and spent several days meeting up with a whole bunch of poultry peeps. When I returned, I worked Friday and then headed back to Minneapolis with Teacher Man, as well as my good friend/coworker, Teresa, and her husband. We took in the sights and sounds of the Super Bowl Live experience on Nicollet Mall on Friday night and then Teresa and I were blessed to be invited to attend the Taste of the NFL party on Saturday night as guests of Meet Minneapolis. (We work with these fabulous folks on our annual convention at the Minneapolis Convention Center.)
Today I did take one nap and the best thing I saw all day was the Justin Timberlake halftime show at the Super Bowl … and Minneapolis turning purple in honor of Prince!
All in all, it’s been a major whirlwind of a week or so but completely worth it. But am I tired? Yes, most definitely. 😉
Enjoy the pics and I’ll be back again soon … once I get a good night’s sleep!
My sister … the 40th birthday queen! I’d say 40 looks good on her!
And our birthday boy, Joe, who turned 14 on January 26!
Pizza Luce for the win!
And a rare family photo with all of us! (A shout-out to Davis in the back row – his birthday came just a couple of days after we were in Minneapolis.)
Fast forward to … my first experience at The Waffle House while in Atlanta!
Just enjoying a little lunch in the CNN building. 😉
My poultry life … walking the gigantic trade show floor that is the International Poultry and Processing Expo!
Awwww! One of my poultry colleagues saw this pug in a store recently and had to bring it to me!
We may have visited our favorite tequila bar in midtown Atlanta on our last night in town. Just saying.
Here I’m back in Minneapolis and ready to hit Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis!
Minneapolis looked gorgeous on Friday night!
Possibly my favorite photo opp ever … a human snowglobe!
My outfit for the Taste of the NFL … LuLaRoe, of course! (And yes, my feet were killing me at the end of the night. I love those heels but yikes – I’m not used to wearing them!
An acrobat at the Taste of the NFL!And here we are, glowing in all that purple light!
