Christmas is definitely a whirlwind for us. On December 23, we hold our own little Christmas celebration at home. Then we hit the road to see both sides of the family – Teacher Man’s on Christmas Eve and my family on Christmas Day. Then we pack up the vehicle on December 26 and head back home, needing a nap and a break from all the food and wine.

It’s a blast while it lasts, though! And we were lucky again this year to have good traveling weather – the snow didn’t hit until our drive home the day after Christmas.

As you might assume, I did take a few photos to commemorate the holiday:

This t-shirt is completely Joe. 🙂

Earl received a Santa scarf but as you can imagine, he wasn’t overly thrilled.

Joe found this R2D2 ornament to give to his Dad.

And he found this magnet to give to his mother. Well played, Joe. Well played.

Weekend Snaps | Christmas EditionI also will be able to continue my quest to become a Mini Rhee (Drummond, that is, of The Pioneer Woman fame) with this cookbook. And I love the necklace Joe picked out for me as well – it’s turquoise, which is a favorite of mine!

These are all the grandkids and great grandkids on Teacher Man’s side of the family. We take this picture every year in the same location in the basement of my father-in-law’s home. It’s so fun to see how everyone has grown – and lately, how many new babies have been added to the family!

Here we are at my parents’ home. Isn’t my mom’s Christmas tree just lovely?

Joe received a selfie stick for Christmas and this is the first photo we took with it. Clearly we need a little more practice – and Miss Morgan didn’t find it interesting at all. 😉

My best picture of Miss Morgan came later in the evening after she was in her jammies.

And this is Earl the Pug, very glad to be home after doing way more traveling and adjusting than any 15-year-old pug should be expected to handle.

I hope you had a holiday weekend filled with good food, lots of laughter and plenty of blessings.

  1. Lara,
Looks like a joyous weekend for you and your family!

I have to agree with Earl the Pug, J and I were not moving to fast on Saturday morning. We slept in until 7ish! Who knew so much fun could make us so tired?

Hope to see a few Pioneer Women recipes with an “exciting self” twist in the near future.

    • I was soooo tired on Saturday too! I guess my age is catching up with me – I couldn’t believe I could be so exhausted from all the family get-togethers! LOL

I am definitely going to dig into that cookbook soon – there is bound to be a few that I can work my kind of magic on! 🙂

      Lara
