Welcome, 2019! I hope you all had a wonderful New Year’s Eve, spending it with the people you love. We braved the rather ugly (snow/ice-covered roads) to head out to the farm, hanging with my family.

Here are a few of my favorite pics from the evening.

Cousins – Miss A., Joe, and Morgan.
Our menu was inspired – or eclectic, depending on how you view it. 😉 My brother-in-law and my mom made oyster stew, a tradition on NYE for my mom’s family growing up. My brother supplemented that course with an amazing minestrone soup.

We also served Cajun turkey breast, ham balls, Instant Pot mac-and-cheese, cheesy hash brown potatoes, deviled eggs, and other assorted appetizers … including some Cajun fried deer heart. Yes, actual deer heart that Teacher Man had saved in the freezer after a successful hunt last year. Everyone tried it – even Joe! – and the general consensus was it tasted pretty much like venison. Imagine that?!
One of my faves … classic deviled eggs!
Oh, deer heart!
Miss Morgan got into the NYE spirit early and often with the noisemakers! 😉
My boy Joe.
My sissy.
My sissy with my other sissy (in-law) … Dana has been a part of our family since she and brother first started dating in high school and I can’t imagine going through life without her as both my SIL and friend!
My pretty mama.
Teacher Man hanging out with just a couple of the dogs in the family – Colt (our nephew’s springer spaniel) and Louie (my brother and sister-in-law’s English bulldog).
My Dad with the newest dog addition to the family – Duke, a German shorthair pointer, who belongs to my sister and brother-in-law.

Other dogs not featured in photos, Vinnie (French bulldog), Leia (English bulldog), Avery (German shorthair pointer), and Lobo (Siberian husky). Did I miss anyone? LOL

Somehow I missed getting a picture with my brother and also my brother-in-law, although both are probably not to bent out of shape about that. 😉 All in all, it was a fun night good food, plenty of wine, and lots of laughter to usher in 2019.

What more could we ask for?
