Was my last blog post really January 20? Good grief.

So goes my life the first three months of the year. I traveled to Atlanta, San Antonio, and Minneapolis for work and in between, I just tried to hang on for the ride – amidst a winter that showed its fangs this year.

And there was some fun, of course!

Joe turned 15 and now has his driver’s permit. (No, I’m not completely used to this yet but yes, he is getting practice hours in and doing a pretty good job.)

We took the family bowling to celebrate the January/February birthdays!
Oh my … his first practice session!

I saw Fleetwood Mac in concert and they were absolutely fantastic!

I celebrated National Margarita Day with turkey industry friends in San Antonio!

I found my new favorite dress at Anthropologie (leopard print of course) and wore it in San Antonio and Minneapolis … this is going to be my new go-to!

Joe took an early spring break trip to the Keys with my brother, sister-in-law, and niece. What a fun time he had and we are so grateful for this opportunity to spend time with his uncle (below left), aunt and cousin (in the turquoise hat)!

Their flight was delayed due to yet another winter snowstorm around here so because of my travel schedule for work, I actually didn’t see Joe for about 15 days!

I enjoyed my work at yet another Midwest Poultry Federation Convention – seeing old friends and colleagues and meeting new people as well. It’s my organizations’ biggest week of the year!

The Midwest Poultry Convention means early mornings, lots of coffee, and late nights when only adrenaline keeps me going … but I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way!
Best meal of the week was at Bar La Grassa in Minneapolis!
If you haven’t been, you simply must go if you have opportunity!
We capped off the convention with a private concert with Jo Dee Messina! I love all her songs and her voice is as amazing as ever!

So this weekend, I caught up (a little) on sleep and enjoyed a St. Patrick’s Day celebratory meal at my brother’s home on Saturday night. Sunday was a lazy day at home, watching PGA golf and working on our summer vacation plans to France and Ireland!

We’re taking Joe to Paris and the Normandy area as well as spending a week or so in Ireland. It also happens to be our 20th wedding anniversary, which we will spend in Paris so I’m positively giddy about that!

Next up this week, I have two days off (yay!) and hope to sneak in a pedicure, get back to my regular workout schedule, and will be going to an honor band concert at St. Cloud State that Joe is participating in. And that’s just through Tuesday!

The temps are finally warming up and I’m beyond ready for a little spring weather. I also look forward to getting back to a more regular blogging schedule — I missed you all!

Have a great week, friends!

xoxo – Lara
