Once upon a time, my mom came up with this brilliant hack for Easy Turkey Burger Sliders! It’s so easy, I’m almost embarrassed I didn’t think of it myself years ago.
What incredients do I need for Easy Turkey Burger Sliders?
- Ground turkey – I like Lean Ground Turkey from Jennie-O, which is a 93%/7% combination — if you go extra lean, you’ll lose the fat (meaning: flavor) and your burgers might be a little dry. Don’t be afraid of the 85%/15% mix of ground turkey either – it’s awesome for turkey burgers! Remember, a little fat is your friend when it comes to burgers.
- Salt and pepper
- Slider buns – I like to find the Brioche option at my grocery store but any slider buns will work.
How do I make Easy Turkey Burger Sliders?
- Pro tip: start with frozen ground turkey! Defrost just enough to be able to slice through it with a knife but not so much that it is 100% defrosted. This will help keep your slider patties together.
- Take the pound of ground turkey and cut through with a sharp knife to make 6 evenly spaced square patties. (You will NOT be mixing anything into the ground turkey. Just make 6 slider patties from the ground turkey directly out of its tray pack. The key to keeping these juicy is not mixing/stirring up the ground turkey.)
- Salt and pepper both sides of the ground turkey slider patties.
- Pan fry in either a nonstick pan or cast iron pan on your stovetop. This will take approximately 6-7 minutes per side.
- Cook patties until the temperature on a meat thermometer reaches 165 degrees F.
- Take off the heat, add cheese if you like.
- Serve with the Brioche slider buns and your choice of condiments.
I told you these Easy Turkey Burger Sliders are, well, super easy! And by not over-mixing the turkey, your burgers will always turn out juicy. Just make sure you use a meat thermometer (like this one) to ensure the proper temperature is reached.
