It’s 91 degrees where I live today – and quite humid! No complaints here – I love summer so bring it on. The mosquitoes, however, are loving it as well, but I doused myself in bug spray and went out to do a little weeding early this afternoon anyway. Both my flowers and vegetables are coming along nicely, and since I haven’t had much time to do a lot of writing on this blog as of late (I promise I will get back into it soon!), I took a few sunny photos to share.

P.S. Just ignore any stray weeds you see in these photos. 🙂

My sun-loving zinnia plants are going to bloom soon. Definitely one of my absolute favorite flowers in my gardens.

I love alyssum - how bright white it is and how it spreads to fill in the nooks and crannies in my garden.

Knock on wood, my crop of yellow beans is looking good. Really good. I can't wait to harvest the beans, steam them, add a little butter and garlic salt and enjoy with a glass of wine. Just a few more weeks!

I planted random varieties of winter squash this year so it will be a surprise to see what I get. Weird fact about me: I dislike the texture of summer squash so I rarely grow it. But winter squash is super yummy!
