Here we are on another Sunday night and weirdly, I feel like I have all this energy right now. I have no idea why – just that I was pretty productive today and I hope this carries over to the week ahead.

Friday evening Teacher Man and I headed over to Norm’s Wayside Rest to grab a pizza to go and have a drink while we were waiting. For some reason this bar/restaurant reminds me of the movie Road House, sans all the fighting and bad behavior. 😉 The pizza is fantastic, by the way … and the live music Friday night was quite good too.

Saturday morning I did my FASTer Way to Fat Loss workout and I’ve been so happy to realize that the program has really been a good fit for me. I’ve lost about 10 pounds and numerous inches. This is not a diet, folks – it’s more of a way of looking at how we fuel our bodies with the right foods at the right times, and complement that with workouts that vary each day (along with intermittent fasting). And here’s the kicker: the workouts are are never more than about 30-40 minutes. They are effective AND efficient!

This has been a game changer for me because as I’ve headed into my 5th decade, I feel like I was losing ground — even though I think ate pretty healthy and worked out consistently. I’m not here to sell you on this program (I promise) but if you are interested in learning more, you can visit this link. (And feel free to email me any questions you have!)

While I got a workout in, Teacher Man and Joe built me a new fence for one of my veggie garden beds. Take that, rabbits! 😉

I also made a quick visit to my local garden store, The Rustic Garden, to pick up some pansies and generally just make my soul happy. I may not be able to do much outside as of yet in the gardens, but I can start planning!

Later in the afternoon, Teacher Man and I did a little shopping locally, picking up a new coffee table for our family room as well as a few other treasures. Then we relaxed at Haye’s Public House and enjoyed a beer.

Today, I just bummed around at home and my son retreated to his vampiric lair to compose music and play video games. I took a walk, made my favorite banana bread recipe, and did a little spring cleaning in my closet. Oh, and Joe did show up downstairs for sustenance when he got hungry. 😉

I’m not quite sure why I was thinking these heels would add joy to my wardrobe — back in the day. (LOL) I’m definitely ready to donate these to a good home … I love heels but I’m much smarter about what I wear now. And honestly, these heels have never looked like “me” anyway. Must have been a very spontaneous purchase!

It’s still looking a little brown around here but the trees are budding out and the temps hovered around 50 during my walk. Unfortunately I’m hearing rumors of a foot of snow later this week. We’ll see what transpires — and at least any snow we do get will melt quickly.

And we do have the Master’s golf tournament next weekend – woot woot! I’ll be working on my picks for our family pool. (You can read about a fun Master’s party that we had here.)

Have a great start to your week!

xoxo – Lara
